October 26, 1881

The walk to destiny-- as portrayed in 1957's Gunfight at the O.K. Corral (top), and in 1994's Wyatt Earp-- made by Doc Holliday and the Earp brothers in Tombstone, A.T., on October 26, 1881. The quartet gathered near the intersection of Fourth and Allen streets, outside Hafford's Corner Saloon, walked north on Fourth Street to Fremont Street. They turned left, walked just about three-fourths of a block, and confronted the armed and belligerent cow-boys in the lot next to Camillus and Mollie Fly's photo studio. The rest is history, and a legend that will live forever.
