CAUTION: Ghost Hunting may be Hazardous to your Health!

Can investigating the paranormal be dangerous?

Is there any danger while investigating the paranormal?
Danger can come in many different forms: physical, mental and spiritual, especially within this field.
Is the scope of this danger only limited to those physically at the location during the research and investigation or can it affect others? What are these dangers??
Is there any way to avoid them?
Or do we just take it on the chin and hope for the best?
Let us know what you think, any experiences you may have had and some of the methods you use to minimise the risks.
In The Paranormal Guides Weekly Podcast 002 we discussed this topic in depth and came up with our own opinions. Each of us differed in how much danger is present out on investigation and when doing research but now we would like to pose the question to you!

(You can listen to that podcast here: http://theparanormalguide.podbean.com/2012/08/08/002-is-investigating-the-paranormal-dangerous-the-paranormal-guide-weekly-podcast/)
Picture: Someone screaming in fright as she faces the dangers of the unknown...
(once again I just liked the picture!)
Inset: Upper, one of the many physical location dangers an investigator may face.... Lower, Spirit attack!
